Swing Check Valves
The swing check valve is a specific cryogenic valve used to regulate liquid flow through larger pipelines and medium or high flow applications to prevent backflow. They are “swing check” due to an internal disc that opens on forward liquid flow. If the liquid becomes bottlenecked or is cut off entirely, the internal disc triggers the valve off. These cannot be used in reciprocating lines, or the internals will lock up and no longer function properly. The main applications for this style would be Hydrogen (H2) or Methane (CH4) lines or related functions of these gases/liquids.
